Parental Involvement
Our parent community plays an integral role in helping to make Saint Martha an outstanding and dynamic school. It is the volunteer efforts of our parents that make it possible for us to attend field trips, plan and carry out social events, both in and out of the classroom and help with the annual fundraising efforts that financially sustain our school and allow us to provide a private, Catholic education at a cost much lower than surrounding schools.
With this in mind, we ask that all registered school families donate *a minimum of 20 volunteer hours per school year. There are several opportunities to volunteer at different Parish and School events each year. Your time and support are greatly needed and always appreciated. When we all come together in support of our students and our mission, great things happen!
Saint Martha School PSO (Parent Service Organization)
The Saint Martha School PSO is a service organization comprised of four elected individuals who lead our parent community and take the initiative to organize, promote and carry out the major social engagements and fundraising for our school. The positions of our PSO (chair, co-chair, treasurer and secretary) are elected annually and serve for one full academic year.
Volunteer Requirements:
20 hours per family
OR 10 hours per preschool or one-parent family.
All parents who interact with minors in any capacity must complete a Criminal Background Check Form and a Code of Conduct for Clergy, Employees and Volunteers Form from the Diocese of Lansing (both are available through the school office.) In addition, volunteers much complete either in-person or online training through Virtus.
