Deacon Carl Boehlert

Deacon Carl and his wife Paula Somohano moved to Okemos in 2005 and have 3 children who attended Saint Martha School. Victoria is now attending the University of Dayton, while Nicolas and Lucas are at Lansing Catholic High School.

Deacon Carl was ordained in May 2015 and is currently our RCIA Director. He received a B.S. degree in Agricultural and Biological Engineering at Cornell University and later earned M.S. and Ph.D degrees in Materials Science and Engineering at the University of Dayton where he met Paula. In addition to the ministry work he does here at Saint Martha, he is also a professor in the Department of Chemical Engineering and Materials Science at Michigan State University.
