Father John Whitlock

Pastor in Residence, Diocesan Director of Seminarians

Father John helps with Sacramental assistance here at Saint Martha, in addition to serving as the Director of Seminarians for the Diocese of Lansing!

Father John grew up in St. Johns. After graduating with a Master’s in Accounting from Grand Valley State University, he worked as a CPA and auditor until he heard the call to the priesthood. He then attended Sacred Heart Major Seminary in Detroit and was ordained in 2013.

Father John has served as parochial vicar at Queen of the Miraculous Medal Parish in Jackson and Our Lady of Fatima Parish in Michigan Center, and as a formation advisor and spiritual director at Saint John Vianney College Seminary in St. Paul, Minnesota.

Father John resides at the Rectory with Father Mike Murray and Father David Fons (Saint Mary, Williamston) and enjoys exploring the many hiking trails in the area. He is very happy to be more involved in parish life again and hopes to see Saint Martha continue to grow in holiness and in discipleship.
